Steve Tavaglione

Steve Tavaglione is one of the leading electronic sound designers and session musicians in Los Angeles, performing on saxophone and woodwinds as well as creating abstract ambient textures and sound effects for film and television productions.

He is best known for his pioneering Latin fusion group Caldera, his playing with noted electric jazz keyboardist Scott Kinsey, and his extensive work in TV and film music. He has recorded for television programs such as CSI, CSI:NY and Charmed, and films including WALL.E, Finding Nemo, Road to Perdition, Sex in the City, Tropic Thunder, Jarhead, Oceans 11, 12, and 13 and many others. He has released two solo records, Blue Tav in 1990 and Silent Singing in 1997.

He has also recorded and performed with Sergio Mendes, Roger Waters, Michael Jackson, Vinnie Colaiuta, John Patitucci, Scott Kinsey, Scott Henderson and countless others.

Tavaglione's latest music combines his long-time interest in ambient and experimental electronic music with innovative post-jazz improvisation.
